Who We Are
NCON is a Christian tertiary nursing college run by the Church of the Nazarene. We train nurses who are clinically competent, ethically grounded, and spiritually formed to serve PNG’s hospitals and communities.

Our History
Before becoming a college, the institution trained Aid Post Orderlies starting in 1967. In 1984, the General Nursing Program began, and the name changed to Nazarene College of Nursing.
Over the years, many graduates have served in hospitals and rural communities throughout PNG.
Timeline
1967–1975: Aid Post Orderly School established before the Nazarene Hospital opened; 28 graduates.
1971–1982: Nurse Aid Programme admitted 98 students; 84 completed and passed national exams.
1972–1983: Enrolled Nurse training program (Hospital and Community Nurses) operated until discontinued by the Health Department.
1983: Current college building opened, including classrooms, library, dormitories, and offices.
1984: First intake for General Nurse training; the school became a tertiary institution and was renamed Nazarene College of Nursing.
2011: Introduction of the Laity Ministry Program, enabling students to graduate with both a Diploma in Nursing and a Certificate in Lay Ministry
